Front KDSS Billet Link

What It Is

The DRKDSS Front KDSS Billet Link is a performance replacement for the OEM front KDSS fixed link. It replaces the factory rubber-bushed link with a fully greaseable billet aluminum link and Delrin bushing system, allowing the sway bar and suspension to cycle smoothly without the binding caused by the factory design.

This upgrade replaces the OEM passenger-side front KDSS link and is engineered for drivers who want their suspension to move freely under real off-road conditions.

Why This Exists 🚙

The factory front KDSS link uses a large rubber bushing torqued to 110 ft-lbs at ride height. Once tightened, that rubber bushing is essentially locked into position.

As the suspension moves:

  • The rubber bushing resists rotation

  • Tension builds within the link

  • The suspension deflects instead of cycling freely

If you’ve ever disconnected your sway bar and tried rotating the OEM link by hand, you’ve probably noticed it barely moves.

For drivers pushing their suspension systems harder off-road, that restriction becomes a limiting factor.

The DRKDSS billet link eliminates that bind.

What It Does 🔧

  • Removes restriction caused by the OEM rubber bushing

  • Allows smoother front suspension articulation

  • Improves sway bar movement during suspension travel

  • Reduces stored tension within the KDSS system

  • Maintains proper KDSS system function

  • Adds a fully greaseable serviceable pivot point

  • Includes an integrated pilot hole for optional safety wire

Real-World Development

This product was developed over three years of testing and has accumulated over 25,000 miles of real-world use, including:

  • Baja race support vehicles

  • Baja tours

  • Southern California high desert testing

  • Trail and desert environments

This is field-tested performance, not theoretical engineering.

Design & Materials ⚙️

  • CNC-machined from 6061 aircraft-grade billet aluminum

  • Anodized in Southern California

  • Fully greaseable Delrin bushing system

  • Integrated pilot hole for optional safety wire

  • Designed for real off-road durability

The Delrin bushing allows controlled rotation without the binding of rubber while remaining durable and serviceable.

Recommended lubrication:

  • Marine grease

  • High-temperature performance grease

Available Colors 🎨

Torque Specifications 🔩

Top main bolt (link to frame)
→ 110 ft-lbs
→ Use Loctite or safety wire (recommended)

Vertical M12 sway bar bolts
→ 85 ft-lbs
→ No Loctite required (stover nuts included)

For safety, mark bolts after torque to allow quick visual inspection.

Real Talk

The factory link was never designed for aggressive articulation or serious off-road use.

This billet replacement removes the binding point and lets your KDSS suspension actually do what it was designed to do.

Built for rigs that get driven hard — not parked. 💪
